About Vaccines

Well Visit and Immunization Schedule

The following single and combination immunization are given in childhood.

Pediarix	Five-in-one vaccine consisting of Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis (whooping cough), Hepatitis B Vaccine, Polio Vaccine
Hib	Hemophilus B Vaccine
DTaP	Three in one vaccine which is a part of the five in one vaccine (pediarix) above but must be given “as is” after age 6 months. The five in one vaccine above is not approved as a booster vaccine.
MMR	Three-in-one vaccine for measles, mumps, rubella
Varivax	For chicken pox
Prevnar	Pneumococcal conjugate vaccine
Tdap	Variant of Dtap – for older children
Hepatitis B vaccine
Meningococcal vaccines
IPV	Inactivated polio vaccine

Immunization Schedule

4 months	Physical exam Developmental assessment Immunization (same as age 2 months)
6 months	Same as age 4 months + influenza vaccine
